Learning Git!

As it turns out, editing text files on GitHub is far from the best way to create a website. Fortunately, Tanuj has been walking me through some basic Git commands, as well as introducing me to Sublime Text for the editing of my posts :)

Following this, I’m hoping to figure out how to locally develop the site so I don’t have to tether my phone to my laptop for consistent connection…

Thu 2017-11-23 15:13 Ruby is being a total pain and can’t find any of its dependencies. I’ve found a workaround that allows me to view the site locally, but all of the Jekyll gems are glitching out.

Thu 2017-12-14 17:27 I’ve discovered that I can use the -a parameter rather than adding everything to the commit with a separate command! The next order of business is going to be figuring out how to push changes from my phone, since I’ll be travelling without my laptop over the break.

Sat 2017-12-16 01:38 Testing out Atom.io, since Sublime Text keeps asking me to cough up money.
